Verdict

A fiendishly difficult event to get Kempton's card underway with Phoebe Buffay given the vote ahead of Diliza, Haripour and Anemos. Lisa Jones charge actually accounted for Diliza at Sandown last week and by curious quirk of fate is actually better off this evening. Tonight she races off an 8lb lower mark and the draw has been relatively kind to her. Diliza has been running in significantly better grade than the bare form figures suggest and the step up in trip could suit. She was only beaten four lengths last week but has work to do at the weights. Haripur produced an encouraging reappearance on turf at Nottingham for new connections and improvement can be anticipated. He has passed between the hands of Alec Stewart and John Akehurst before reaching his new trainer but Reid can certainly get the best out of others' cast-offs. Tonight's draw could have been a lot more helpful. Figura has been in fair form on the all-weather but has been inconsistent on turf of late. Anemos will certainly appreciate a step back up to nine furlongs but while his overall form is fair, he looks increasingly difficult to win with. Pango should strip fitter for a reappearance effort and is watched in the market for inspiration.
