Paul Blockley's great start to the season looks set to continue with African Spur likely to get the better of Aljazeera and Caught In The Dark. The son of Flying Spur lost many lengths at the start of his recent Brighton victory but still managed to get up to thwart the short-priced favourite. In a race where there are many doubts about a number of the runners, he looks to be the percentage call. Aljazeera has always threatened to win races but invariably does himself no favours by pulling hard from the gate. If this problem can be corrected, he looks to be at the right end of the handicap. Caught In The Dark is often well-backed and narrowly failed at Chepstow in a recent fillies contest. Kieren Fallon's booking looks positive and the faster surface should not inconvenience. Satelcom posted some decent efforts over further on the Lingfield polytrack this winter and is watched in the market. Ymlaen would need to return to the pick of its' two-year-old form to land this prize.
