RAINBOW ORSE has everything going for him here. Four of his five career victories have been on the track, his last three on soft ground, and a 5lb rise shouldn't be enough to prevent a hat-trick. Major Valentine is also in fine shape having won five times already this year including over the track and trip, though he's never raced on soft ground in his 30 starts. Ayresome Angel was having her first start for new connections and her first run since October when making most at Haydock last month so, with that under her belt, has to be considered along with Show Palace, who has been expertly placed by Jennie Candlish to win six times, mostly on ground with plenty of give. Foxtrot Knight is back on the same mark as his last victory and he won't mind the conditions so has to be respected in a tight handicap.
