A wide open nursery can go to Lipizza ahead of Don't Tell Sue, Island Prince and Diane's Choice to name but three. There are certainly plenty in with chances here, but with Frankie Dettori booked to ride, Lipizza is taken to open her account. Neville Callaghan's filly finished last of 12 on her Newmarket debut, but that was behind the highly-rated Short Skirt, and since then the daughter of Spinning World has improved bit-by-bit, reaching the frame at Catterick and on her nursery bow at Lingfield. She again shaped well in fair company on a return to Catterick two weeks ago, and her style of running suggests that this drop back in trip is just what she needs. Don't Tell Sue has failed to add to her Newbury debut win that was gained in rain-softened ground, but she has taken on better opposition in the main so has to be respected. Island Prince has been described as a lazy sort by his trainer, so how he will cope if it comes to a battle in this ground remains to be seen, but he definitely has the ability to take a hand. Diane's Choice has topweight but is going the right way and will find an opportunity before too long, but without being too confident, Lipizza is the pick on this occasion.
