In depth

Verdict

Not much public form to go on but Sammy Samba shaped with considerable promise on his sole start to date when third at Musselburgh last term and sets a fair standard. The Philip Hobbs-trained gelding will prove hard to beat if fit following a near six-month absence. Fire Ranger and Vaigly North have both shown ability and look best of those to have raced previously but the market may provide more clues.
