In depth

Verdict

Bairon, a useful winner on the level in his native France, made a highly pleasing start to his hurdling career when a most comfortable winner over this course and distance last month. The Paul Nicholls-trained gelding should have little difficulty in offsetting a 6lb penalty in this company. Spark Of Life showed ability on his first attempt over timber last term but has a longish absence to overcome so Donnini, second on his hurdling debut at Hereford in May, may be the one for the forecast.
