In depth

Verdict

Very few of these can be given a serious chance and Leroy's Sister is preferred to Shady Grey, with Tea's Maid rated the best of the remainder. The selection is no world-beater but has shown enough in similar company and again in a handicap last time to suggest that she will be good enough here, especially in receipt of Shady Grey. Charlie Mann's mare opened her account in good fashion in a maiden hurdle at Worcester in May but has failed to live up to expectations in two starts at Uttoxeter last month since then and may struggle to concede weight all round today. Chris Popham's Hunter Pudding looked beaten when falling at Worcester last time and does not good enough, while Kilmucklin Girl has given little sign of encouragement in two starts in point-to-points since her latest rules start. A bigger threat then is likely to come from Tea's Maid, who has been running to a consistent level of form of late but needs to improve to trouble the selection, Leroy's Sister.
