In depth

Verdict

Lady Lisa has twice disappointed since winning a handicap here last month and Martin Pipe's mare looks a shade high in the weights at present so a chance is taken with Dancinginthestreet, who gets the vote ahead of Altitude Dancer. The last mentioned is only 4lbs higher than when scoring at Plumpton in March but has been well held in two starts since that success and may find the going too quick for him today. Great Compton has slipped to an attractive mark so has to be respected but has given little sign of encouragement of late, while Nimvara looks distinctly moderate. Denarius Secundus receives weight all round and has claims on the form shown when third behind Alessandro Severo at Exeter last time but preference is for Dancinginthestreet. The selection would not have an obvious chance on the evidence of form shown in three runs in novice hurdles but they have all been on a softer surface and there should be more to come now that the five-year-old tackles fast ground for the first time over hurdles.
