QUEDILLAC will be very hard to beat if taking to fences at the first time of asking with Maurisca, Power Shared and River Ripples others to consider. Tim Vaughan's charge was surely purchased with chasing in mind given that connections have wasted no time sending over the big ones and that bodes well, as does the fact he beat a 115-rated rival over hurdles last time and yet gets in here off 105. It's important to note that the second horse surely wasn't at his best that day but our pick was undeniably impressive and providing he jumps soundly rates a solid bet. Maurisca seems to be a genuine good-ground horse whose third to Menorah over hurdles reads particularly well. He showed himself to be thrown in when running away with a reasonable contest last time and can't be discounted despite having a 9lb rise to overcome as an improving five-year-old. Power Shared strictly has his beating on their meeting at Hereford but that was on soft ground and Paul Murphy's charge is unlikely to repeat the feat on markedly quicker ground. River Ripples hasn't had much racing for one of his age and is considered with conditions ideal but he's probably got enough weight for that he's done, whilst Cloud Nine is well-related and really should be better than this but as yet hasn't shown that to be the case. This is competitive for the grade but Quedillac has the potential to progress beyond these and should land the odds.
