In depth

Verdict

Despite the fast ground, this trip will still take some getting but ROYAL RIVIERA is gaining confidence all the time and won over 3m at Ffos Las. It would be no surprise if he completed his hat-trick, though Saticon is another chasing a three-timer and he had Fairoak Lad well behind at Worcester in June. Mr Hudson will be back over fences soon but has plenty of stamina and is unlikely to want for fitness, while old-timer Raslan is still capable on his day and looks a better bet than stablemates Laustra Bad and Vertige Dore. Scotsbrook Cloud is difficult to win with nowadays, however, and this looks a tall task for the lightly-raced Buachaill Alainn and Captain Scarlett.
