All six winners of this race have been returned at single figure prices so it may pay to concentrate on the market leaders once they are revealed. For now, our short-list comprises MARKINGTON, Perfect Shot and Dazinski. Judgethemoment would have claims if returning to his mid-summer form whilst Tom Queally is unbeaten aboard My Mate Max and Reg Hollinshead provided the winner of this race last year. John Dunlop has also hit the target a couple of times in this contest and it would be no surprise to see Perfect Shot bounce back from some tame performances and he did have Dulcie behind when winning at the July course. Dazinski has improved for the step up to staying trips and stayed on well to win at Nottingham from a 5lb lower mark and could have more in the locker. Brian Meehan has dispensed with the blinkers as Aaim To Prosper has his second start for the yard whilst the booking of Dettori suggests that connections are hopeful of a big run. Spirit Of Adjisa arrives in form but has his stamina to prove unlike Markington who was staying on strongly over a further quarter of a mile than this at Pontefract. He can hardly be described as well handicapped but he has held his form well on the level this year and has formed a good partnership with today's jockey who may be able to partner Markington to another success.
