In depth

Verdict

As with the first division of this contest there is not a lot for backers to go on and what can only be a tentative vote goes to Mofarij, who is preferred to Earl Marshal and Mutanaseb. The last mentioned ran with promise on his debut but the Michael Jarvis-trained colt may do better on a faster surface. Mark Johnston's Ashn Thunder has the benefit of experience but is another that may do better when encountering faster ground. Similar comments apply to Peter Chapple-Hyam's Noisy Silence, while Spanish Moon should handle the ground but makes less appeal than stablemate Earl Marshal, who should go on the ground but may do better over further in time. Mofarij has a pedigree that takes the eye being a half-brother to Group 1 winner Iffraaj and he may be worth chancing first time out.
