The old campaigner Nayyir would not be without a chance on the pick of his form but Gerard Butler's eight-year-old may, along with Quito, struggle to give weight away to Final Verse, who gets the vote ahead of Army of Angels. The selection has his first start since landing the Heron Stakes at Goodwood in May but can be expected to be fit enough following the break and, on ground conditions that suit, he looks worth chancing. Somnus has yet to prove his effectiveness over this far and is probably best watched, while Polar Ben is similarly better over shorter. Bahia Breeze has been hard to win with of late, while Blue Ksar may arguably want further but cannot be discounted given his connections and favoured soft ground. Frankie Dettori prefers Godolphin's other runner Army of Angels though and having proven his ability on a softer surface at York last time he has to be respected but Final Verse could be different class to these and may be worth chancing on his return.
