    Verdict

    Walkonby’s victory at Haydock was franked when runner-up Kipps ran well at Royal Ascot but she is 6lb higher and the going will be quicker than ideal. DELTA’S ROYALTY only failed by a length to give 7lb to Renaissance Queen here on her reappearance. She was still showing signs of inexperience and deserves a chance to make amends. Escalade has a strong staying pedigree so the big step up in distance will suit last year’s Southwell winner but Kepala needs to find some improvement.
