With a number of these open to considerable improvement this looks competitive but we'll take Spell Caster to land the spoils. Celt never really got into the Tradesman's Derby but may be worth another chance if the market gives out the right vibes. Yes Mr President produced a better performance in that race in first time blinkers and may be able to get involved again if building on that run. Totoman won his maiden with ease from Director's Chair but this is tougher and the handicapper hasn't taken any chances although the booking of Ryan Moore is a positive. Excape and Celtic Dragon continue to head in the right direction whilst this longer trip may help Highland Laddie to do so but his stable's form is a major cause for concern. Mon Plaisir is the type that his yard excels with and he's only been raised 5lbs for his win at Salisbury and he should derive further improvement from this step up in trip and should also progress with racing. The selection did really well in three runs as a juvenile which culminated in a three and three quarter length defeat behind Bronze Cannon and has begun this season in similar vein. She started off over a mile and was then stepped up to ten furlongs but lacked the pace to make any real impression on the leaders from off the pace on either occasion. She looks tailor made for this step up in trip and George Baker is expected to work his magic aboard Spell Caster.
