It is hard to get away from Sonny Santino, who shaped with plenty of promise at York on his debut and is fancied to take all the beating here. Red Clubs, El Capitan and Red Emerald are others to bear in mind if they are supported. Red Clubs won well at Goodwood just over three weeks ago and shapes as if he has plenty more to offer. He should not be underestimated in spite of the step up in trip today. Red Emerald has the assistance of Jamie Spencer, who managed to coax a win out of her at Folkestone last month. However, this daughter of Makbul does need to better her recent efforts and she has a little prove today. El Capitan is an expensive purchase that will be expected to pay his way before too long. Frankie Dettori riding in the colours of Michael Tabor will be taken as a tip in itself by many and this son of Danehill Dancer will be dangerous to ignore if the 'Newmarket dogs' start barking. However, Sonny Santino has the valuable edge in terms of experience and is taken as the one to beat at this stage. Although it remains to be seen how his Knavesmire form will work out, Sonny Santino appeared to already know plenty about what is required of him and, with six furlongs looking ideal for him, the son of Bertolini gets the benefit of any doubt today.
