An ordinary maiden for the course and Clara Bow is selected in the hope that she can carry over some of the enthusiasm she displayed at Nottingham from her April reappearance. Topiary Ted, Cameron Orchard and Arturius are others to make room for on the shortlist. Arturius was an expensive purchase and is bred to make an impact at this sort of trip. He was obviously in need of the run on his solitary start last term and it will be no surprise to see him make a bold bid tonight. Watch the betting where he is concerned. Topiary Ted was second in his division of the Wood Ditton, which has produced four subsequent winners. However, he is one of several others have done little for the form and he needs to find a little improvement against these unexposed types. Therefore, we prefer to go with Clara Bow, who was unlucky to be headed in the closing stages at Colwick Park last month. That was by far the best effort posted to date by the Barry Hills-trained filly and only a slightly better performance would be good enough in this company.
