In depth

Verdict

Despite finishing last twice in a row, POET'S VOICE is still the logical choice in this. He will have needed last month's Goodwood run and went down with all guns blazing against Saturday's Woodbine winner Wigmore Hall at Meydan in March having won the Group 1 QE II Stakes at Ascot a year ago. The danger may be Tazahum, who took another step in the right direction when second to last week's Newbury winner Green Destiny in the Strensall Stakes at York. Ransom Note will appreciate the drop in distance and could challenge for a place, but Libranno's best form is over shorter distances while Premio Loco will do well to follow up his comfortable win at Doncaster in this higher grade. The others appear to have something to find on the form book.
