DARK LANE is taken to break his maiden tag with both Sloop Johnb and Cutting Comments worth noting. The selection has run well on both his outings to date without ever looking like winning. That said he has shown enough to be respected in this wide open looking contest and with Ryan Moore a positive jockey booking he is shortlisted to go very close. Sloop Johnb won a little maiden race at Carlisle before disappointing at Redcar last time out. He is exposed as only moderate but he has shown the ability to win and that might be good enough in a race of this poor quality. Cutting Comments may be a more reliable type. He did manage to break his maiden tag at Musselburgh last month and has run with credit since. That said he is once again no world beater so has to be treated with some caution. Considering the prize money on offer this race looks poor in quality but we will side with Dark Lane who is still unexposed and could improve to win a race like this.
