Clueless is fancied to deliver on the promise he has shown in his last few starts and is selected ahead of Bold Eagle, Elraawy and Papality. The last named has experience of the track and appears to be going the right way. However the step up in trip may not be absolutely idea for her and she may be vulnerable near the finish. Elraawy is closely matched with the Papality and it is safe to say there will not be much between them if they again run to form. However, Ed Dunlop's charge looks sure to improve for a crack at twelve furlongs and edges that personal battle. Bold Eagle, being trained by Sir Michael Stoute, will be a popular choice after his near miss at Sandown in June. The fact that he tries a maiden again before a handicap will sway the choice for many and he will no doubt be a tough customer to deal with. However, he will also help to make the price for us with Clueless and, with his ability to stay the distance proven, this son of Royal Applause provides us with the best value in a tricky race.
