In depth

Verdict

The History Man, Santerno and Intigold are the three we like in this maiden to open the card and the vote is given to The History Man. The selection is not the most straightforward but he has shown enough to suggest that he can take this contest. He was a beaten favourite over 6f last time at Carlisle but the return to the minimum trip should suit and with his stable in decent form he is taken to finally get his head in front. Santerno rates as the main danger and this filly showed enough on her debut when second behind Capitol Kid to suggest that she can take a hand in the finish. She will need to improve for that run but her stable continues in good form and she should go well. Intigold has shown a fair level of form and he could be interesting if he is allowed an easy lead as he will try and bowl along in front. A market move for any of the newcomers should be noted, but for the winner we return to The History Man.
