This is a wide open contest but Figaro Flyer, Penny Whisper and King Alfie should be capable of getting competitive with the vote given to the first mentioned. The selection ran okay behind the useful Pickett at Hamilton last time, but there is nothing in that class in the field today and in this easier contest with conditions very much in his favour he should take plenty of stopping. Penny Whisper is lightly-raced and has shown a fair level of form in her three runs so far, but she is best on an easy surface and for that reason we will take her on. King Alfie failed to build on a promising debut at Doncaster but then returned to form last time at Haydock when second behind Angus Newz. If he can reproduce that effort here then he will have a serious chance, but he has disappointed off the back of a good effort in the past and the percentage call is to take him on. Miss Gandy won well at Brighton last time but that was a very poor contest and she will need to improve to make the frame here. We are therefore happy to stick with Figaro Flyer as our idea of the winner.
