Silca's Sister can boost her reputation by landing the opener at the expense of La Fanciulla, My and Strut to name but three. Some well-bred sorts make their racecourse introductions here, including My from the Jeremy Noseda stable, and with the stable's youngsters flying at present, it would be no surprise if she were to go close first time. However, Mick Channon has such faith in Silca's Sister that he will be very disappointed indeed if the daughter of Inchinor does not step up on her Newmarket debut. She was sent off as the favourite that day on the strength of some eye-catching homework, but failed to translate her ability to the track, finishing fifth behind Nidhaal. She has continued to work like a dream, and is taken to make amends before taking in the Lowther Stakes at York next month. The field is full of dangers, including La Fanciulla and Strut, and of course the market will be an invaluable guide, but if Silca's Sister is as close to Flashy Wings as we think, then there can only be one winner.
