Duke Of Venice stands out at the weights here and is the selection ahead of Hazyview and Castleton. The selection should be suited by this step up to 10 furlongs, having not raced beyond a mile so far. Fifth in the Dewhurst to Milk It Mick in the autumn, he came out and won a conditions race at Doncaster almost three weeks ago and considering he probably needed that outing it was a good performance. Given that he should come on for that and that he has the best form in the locker he is our choice. Hazyview is proven over this trip, having already enjoyed three wins including a Listed contest here on May Day. Forget his latest run in the Lingfield Derby Trial, where the ground probably beat him, and he has a decent chance here, but may be best suited by genuine good ground and he has a bit to find at the weights with his penalty. Of the others, Castleton makes most appeal as one who can make the frame. He steps up from seven furlongs to 10 and so this is a trip into the unknown, but the fast ground will help and if he gets home then he can pick up some money, but our selection here is Duke Of Venice.
