Escape Route is taken to account for Al Khaleej and Annemasse. Escape Route has a little to prove after a moderate Jimmy Fortune ride at Lingfield but he has shown enough in turf runs to show he is worth persevering with and Rab Havlin has the chance to deputise in the saddle. Al Khaleej staged a good run from off the pace to finish second at Goodwood over nine furlongs. Seb Sanders is aboard again and the handicapper has not gone overboard by putting the horse up 3lb for that run. Annemasse was quietly fancied at the July meeting over six furlongs and having failed to trouble the judge over that trip, he is sensibly stepped back up. Paceman won on soft going at Windsor but has performed creditably in the past on today's surface. Epsom winner, Shot Gun cannot be discounted easily if capable of reproducing his all-weather form from Kempton onto the turf. Classira is potentially the fly in the ointment from the a formbook perspective and the filly is watched in the market for any clues. Escape Route showed enough in earlier outings to suggest he could be useful and we stick with him on this occasion.
