A difficult finale in which Campanile, Sforzando and Royal Flynn all make appeal and we side with Royal Flynn. Michael Dods' charge seems to hold his form on any going and his most recent run can be ignored as it was in a slow run race. Rated in the mid-70's last season, he is at the right end of the handicap to do some damage. Campanile is feared on account of the fact that he is unexposed and the handicapper has had to employ a little bit of guesswork in reaching his rating. Fourth in a Newmarket maiden last season on soft ground, it would be folly to ignore him. Sforzando has won her last two races and is in good heart at the moment. As the mare's better form has come on a faster surface, her appeal would be weakened by further rain. Scottish River ran poorly at Windsor on his latest start but there was money for him beforehand so it will be interesting to see if the punters are getting involved again. Bienheureux hails from a shrewd yard and could not be discounted if consenting to put his best foot forward. Ali D has ran creditably at Newmarket in the past and has chances on some of his better form. Qualatair Wings is a consistent placer but it is quite some time since he visited the winners' enclosure. A trappy affair in which Royal Flynn is offered to minimum stakes.
