LAHALEEB is the sporting option to lower the colours of some flashier sorts along with the likely favourite Aspen Darlin. The last-named has enjoyed a tremendous year and appears to be getting better with every run if her narrow defeat in the Cheveley Park is anything to go by. She's gutsy, versatile and durable but lacks star appeal. The selection wouldn't be a sexy winner either given that she's only won two nurseries in her eight starts but there don't appear to be any standout fillies in this line-up. Lahaleeb finished just over three lengths behind Fantasia and Rainbow View before finishing a fair second at the Curragh in a Group 3. That leaves her with a little to find but not a great deal and she is worth an interest in this line-up. Once-raced maiden winners have a moderate record in the race which counts against Cashleen, Purissima and Lassarina who will need to have made large strides in the interim period if they're going to threaten. Marquesa ran well for a long way in the Marcel Boussac, form which gives her claims here but this comes fairly quickly on the back of that performance. Moonlife ran well in the Oh So Sharp Stakes and could go well if she continues to progress along the right lines.
