Yet another good race on a very difficult card but the way RIGIDITY routed a decent field at Chester last time marks him out as one to follow in spite of a 9lb rise. A sound surface suits Henry Cecil's colt, who took that race by the scruff of the neck and really did impress. Also hiked up in the weights is Oriental Scot, who is 7lb higher than when staying on well to win over a mile at Thirsk. Good ground should be ideal and pedigree suggests that he may improve for this extra quarter-of-a-mile. Contract Caterer is one for the short list but on balance he looks more likely to battle for the minors, while both Life And Soul and Gritstone have claims if able to show more than when they were each beaten favourites last time. Rigidity will take plenty of beating.
