Tony Newcombe likes to target this race and the Devon based handler appears to hold the key to this year's renewal. 2010 winner, Witchry, has been below par this season so we believe that last year's victor, TIME MEDICEAN is more likely to follow up. He is 7lb higher in the handicap but a recent victory at Goodwood suggests that he is in good heart. Dream Catcher seems to go well for a female rider and having obliged twice under Amy Scott, Henry Candy's gelding has the services of Cathy Gannon. Baby Strange likes the hustle and bustle of big handicaps and Derek Shaw's gelding was far from disgraced at Goodwood. Rylee Mooch steps up in trip having won well at Leicester, whilst Sutton Veny does need all the gaps to fall at the right time but a step up to six furlongs should suit and her rider's claim will come in handy.
