Verdict
The Mick Channon yard won this race last year and the trainer has a realistic chance of following up with Strictly Silca. The Danehill Dancer filly finished second in the Winkfield Stakes at Ascot and looks sure to be involved again. Intrepid kept on stoutly on debut over C&D and finished just ahead of Senator Bong. Both appear capable of winning a race but we prefer to stick with the more experienced ZANETTO. Andrew Balding's colt was disappointing in a nursery at Goodwood but enough was thought of him to take a tilt at the Chesham Stakes, and he should appreciate a drop in trip. Noble Deed is a half-brother to a juvenile scorer over five furlongs so any money for the William Haggas debutant should not be ignored. Inka Surprise was a beaten favourite on debut in April and Ralph Beckett's colt makes an overdue return.
