A wide open handicap to round off the card and Palmetto Point is a tentative selection to land it. 4lb better off with Sonny Parkin for a 1 1/4 length beating, that effort followed two below par efforts which may have been needed given his long break off the course. A three time winner on varying ground conditions, Hughie Morrison's charge could reward value seekers. Sonny Parkin is 5lb higher than his most recent victory which was achieved on this course at the end of last month. That was his fourth victory on the July course and while Richard Hughes's patient riding style should suit, he could well be in the handicapper's grip now. Paraguay has been a model of consistency for the Vicky Haigh yard this season and can once again be taken to run his race having found the unexposed Harald Bluetooth just too good at Newbury last week. The stiffer mile and Michael Geran's 5lb claim should aid Oat Cuisine's cause. She relished the stiff mile when scoring on the Rowley Mile in May. Haasem continues to climb the weights without getting his head in front while at bigger prices Effigy, the maiden Effigy could go well although connections seem uncertain with regard to his favoured conditions. Palmetto Point is the pick to land the finale.
