In depth

Verdict

SISTER EARTH is unexposed and gets the nod ahead of Corres and Saggiatore. The last named has finished second in both her last two starts and is beginning to look vulnerable to an improving type. Tonight's step up in trip may be a help but there are sufficient doubts about her possessing the absolute will to win. Corres had a legitimate excuse at Yarmouth last week; when seemingly in the process of running a big race, he stumbled badly and had to be eased down as a result. Assuming he has suffered no ill-effects, the mount of Kieren Fallon would not have too much to find to get competitive here. He is rated as the biggest threat to the selection. However, Sister Earth has shown plenty of promise in both starts this season and, as she has proven stamina for the trip, John Gosden's filly would appear to have a very strong chance here - especially if the ground remains ion the fast side.
