    In depth

    Verdict

Plenty of winning form with Quinault having comfortably completed a double at Chelmsford and Brighton, though a 9lb rise makes this tougher. ERTEBAT has improved with every run and his short-head victory over Quintus Arrius at Pontefract was boosted when the runner-up scored at Hamilton on Sunday. Ajjaj made most and battled on gamely to land a Kempton maiden but Hiatus arrives with a penalty for an easy victory on soft ground at Windsor last week. Skallywag Bay, a winner at Kempton in September, can't have been right when last of 10 on his reappearance at Salisbury.
