Davenport is chanced at the likely odds against Stargazer Jim and The Aldbury Flyer. Although apparently exposed, Davenport's better form is unquestionably when he can get his toe in and with conditions likely to suit, he can leave some moderate early season form behind. Stargazer Jim is well in versus his all-weather form. The market could give most clues as to whether he has the ability to make full use of the concession. The Aldbury Flyer nearly stole a race under a confident front-run at Nottingham. He can handle today's conditions and go well. The well-bred Economic is tried in first time cheekpieces and a watching brief is advised. Barathea Dreams looks likely to go off under customary front running tactics whilst Vanadium is upped massively in trip. Qualatair Wings invariably runs his better races at this course and is very much one to watch out for at longer odds. Street Life is difficult to catch right but impossible to rule out. Apache Fort takes on stronger opposition following two early season successes from basement figures. Davenport is likely to be fair odds and with a preference for the likely conditions, he has plenty in his favour this afternoon.
