Verdict
GALLIC STAR will take some stopping in this Listed contest, while Cill Rialaig and Eastern Aria are worth considering. The last-named is one of the best in the line-up on official ratings and won a similar contest over this trip in France last September. She acts on most ground, though she has just failed to sparkle this campaign and is taken on. Cill Rialaig goes well on fast ground and won the very competitive Duke Of Edinburgh Handicap over this trip at Royal Ascot. She would have to improve on that to win at this level, but she is going the right way. Theatrical Reward is proven over this trip but surprisingly she has not raced at it for some time. She will act in these conditions and is far from discounted despite a moderate start to the season. That leads us back to Gallic Star. Mick Channon's filly gets both the age and sex allowances, has won in this grade already, and stays this trip, as evidenced by a good run at Royal Ascot in the Ribblesdale. She should outclass her rivals.
