Frizzante will be a popular choice after her close but cosy course and distance win a fortnight ago, and James Fanshawe's filly should prove to be the answer over Fanny's Fancy, Olivia Grace and dark horse Riquewihr. The latter is worth a mention as she overcame a tardy start on her Yarmouth debut to win nicely, and although this is a leap of faith, she should be kept in mind for the future when not so highly tried. However, the one that they all have to beat is Frizzante who made amends for her luckless Ayr Gold Cup run when scoring in handicap company here recently. Although only beating Ringmoor Down by a neck at the finish, Jamie Spencer had matters well in hand so he will know how much more is in the tank of this likeable filly who meets her rival on nine pound better terms. Her trainer was toying with the idea of going for Friday's Group 3 Bentinck Stakes instead but has probably made the right choice setting her sights a bit lower. Olivia Grace would be more fancied if this was over five furlongs, while Khulood has disappointed since landing the Nell Gwyn. Presto Vento looks safely held as well, and a bigger danger could be Fanny's Fancy. She ran a blinder in Listed company at Chester, considering that she was returning from a three-month break and can prove in time that she is better than an average all-weather winner. She may reach the frame as well, but the winner's berth looked booked for Frizzante who is a confident choice.
