An open and informative maiden where the speculative vote goes to SPLENDID LIGHT. Trainer John Gosden has saddled half of past 10 winners of this race, four of which were debutants and he clearly targets the contest with a decent juvenile. The selection is a son of Selkirk, himself a two-year-old debut winner over this trip and on ground that looks ideal we'll chance him. El Muqbil showed good improvement from first run to second and this step up in trip should suit, so he has to be feared with that experience in the locker. Suhaili has a good pedigree and represents a yard in cracking form, while Wayward Glance is very well related and this trip is an ideal starting point. More generally speaking, a market check is very much advised.
