This appears to be as competitive a finale as one could wish to find but there have been two winning favourites in three years and PASTORAL PLAYER may be able to follow in the footsteps of Sakhee's Secret who landed the odds for Hughie Morrison three years ago. Racy and Comedy Hall are just two of the many dangers. The selection has more to prove than his illustrious stablemate as he rather blotted his copybook with a couple of moody performances following a debut that was rather more impressive than the winning margin of a neck suggests. However, he could be leniently treated as a result if his connections can channel his undoubted ability and the market could provide a decent pointer. Racy represents a yard that went close to landing this prize last term and could be on a fair mark as may Sunraider be as the form of his Windsor maiden win looks fairly strong. Comedy Hall is more exposed but shapes as though he'll have more to offer this season for his top connections but Pastoral Player is put forwards in the hope that he can go some way to fulfilling his initial promise.
