John Gosden landed the inaugural running of this race and has a strong hand with High Twelve his ace but there's plenty in the way of opposition and a chance is taken with AMEER whilst Coordinated Cut and Hot Prospect are amongst others to consider. High Twelve is regarded as a smart prospect and is entitled to come into his own over middle distances this season but he failed to live up to expectations in Group races on his final two starts of last season and could be one to be wary of at a short price as he did show signs of temperament. The suggestion is Ameer who was described as still being weak by his handler last season but the colt still proved good enough to win his first two starts before making the frame in Pattern company in France. The yard don't have many runners at this stage of the season but they did hit the target with a good percentage of those they had in April twelve months ago which is encouraging. Coordinated Cut was a market springer for the Derby before his debut but he blotted his copybook on his second outing and now has his first start for a new yard. Hot Prospect won his maiden impressively and will come into his own over a trip this season, Don Carlos represents a top yard and must be feared in a race where any number have live claims which is why Ameer is just a tentative suggestion.
