Verdict

Godolphin won this four times between 2011 and 2017 so SECRET STATE makes plenty of appeal with William Buick preferring the Dubawi colt, a 525,000gns purchase who is a full brother to a dual Listed winner and a half-brother to several other winners, to stable companion State Event, who has a slightly less illustrious pedigree. Toophan cost £190,000 as a yearling and is a full brother to Group 3 winner New Treasure but the 155,000gns purchase I Am The Sea has already been gelded. Francesco Clemente and American Flag may need further but Kiteflyer shouldn’t be short of speed.
