Rumours will no doubt be flying around the heath about a potential superstar here, but as we have heard nothing as yet we will take a chance with Almansoor, with Mordor and Pearl King two others to watch out for. All of these are bred in the purple but the selections heritage really stands out. He is a Saddler's wells colt out of a Groom Dancer mare, making him a half brother to the very useful miler Beckett. The ground would be a slight concern, but this three hundred thousand guineas purchase looks the one to be on. Michael Stoute's Mordor is also by Saddler's Wells, out of a five furlong Group three winner. He will know what is required and should be capable of a good showing. Michael Jarvis has a good word for his runner Pearl King and any market move for son of Daylami should be heeded. John Dunlop has introduced some decent types in this race in the past so The Nawab is also worthy of a mention, but the pick on paper for us is Almansoor who gets our sporting vote.
