As usual this appears to be a high quality trial for the 1000 Guineas and the once raced Read Frederica is given the vote, Cape Columbine and Slip Dance will make sure she doesn't get things all her own way. Michael Stoute has an abundance of three-year-old female talent in his yard and Read Frederica looks a star in the making. She was most impressive when landing her maiden here in October, after being well out paced in the early stages. She will have learned a great deal from that experience and she could turn out to be from the top drawer. Cape Columbine landed a valuable sales event here in October beating Obe Gold a shade comfortably. The runner up has of course already given the form a massive boost so this David Elsworth trained filly has to rate a big danger. Slip Dance is one of the more experienced runners. The Irish raider put in some terrific performances last season, including a close second to the very smart Maid's Causeway. She has a fitness edge on most of these and should play a major role. Karen's Caper hails from a yard in form and could be anything following a facile victory at Lingfield last term, but Mr Stoute's record with fillies speaks for itself and Read Frederica looks the best option.
