Not disgraced when fourth behind Arcalis in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle here last month, Prins Willem has to be respected but is not certain to appreciate the step up in trip and preference is for Alderburn, who is preferred to Mr Dinglawi. The last mentioned has a progressive profile having won three of his last four starts, latterly when taking a handicap at Chepstow last month. This looks tougher though and the four-year-old would need to improve again to win once more. Mark Pitman's Without A Doubt has claims on his best but is strictly held by the selection on running behind Julius Caesar at Sandown and disappointed in the three-miler at the festival last time. Bengo is likely to struggle under his penalty, while Martin Pipe's Bannow Strand would need to step up on previous form to trouble Alderburn. Henry Daly's gelding missed the festival so comes here fresher than some, stays well and on the pick of his form holds solid claims. His proven ability over the trip makes Alderburn the choice over Prins Willem.
