The North may monopolise this event, with Amy Louise, Melaaya and Blades Girl taken to lay it down to the Hannon pair Lady Livius and Polliwilline. It generally pays to side with those carrying less than 9st here as the stats over the last 10 years indicate, and with least weight of all on her back, Amy Louise fits the bill. The David Barron-trained filly bolted up on her return in a Newcastle maiden 12 days ago, and has been given a mark of just 78 for her handicap bow. She may well have been let in lightly and is therefore taken to follow up under Kevin Darley. Melaaya was not disgraced behind the prolific Red Evie at Leicester and will come on for the run but has a fair bit of weight, and it may well transpire that Blades Girl emerges as a bigger threat. She made a bold bid to try and make all before being headed at Chester last time, and will be spot on for her third outing of the campaign. Richard Hannon is double-handed, with preference for Polliwilline, a fair third at Goodwood. Lady Livius has it to do off topweight and over this shorter trip, but won well enough at Newbury. Harvest Queen is another with plenty of weight, but she has a squeak on a line through Red Evie. All in all though, Amy Louise has lots going for her and is the pick.
