It's no surprise to see Recession Proof turned out again but this is tougher than the company he's been keeping and we'll give another chance to BUGAKU ahead of Whispering Gallery. The selection does carry a health warning as he ran inexplicably badly at Newbury when attracting a mountain of support. This relatively quick return to action suggests that nothing came to light which isn't necessarily a good thing whilst a couple of furlongs further wouldn't go amiss either but it's too soon to forget the potential that he showed on the first two starts of the season. Recession Proof won with any amount in hand at Pontefract but he enjoyed the run of that race to some extent and could find life tougher in this company although he's undeniably well handicapped. Yirga has been progressing quietly and could come on again although it's a shade disappointing that he was beaten on his first attempt over this trip at Folkestone. However, the ground that day was the fastest that he's encountered and this softer surface could show him in a better light. Scuffle is useful but has questions to answer as does Yorgunnabelucky after a poor run here last time. Vainglory has claims but Whispering Gallery could emerge as a bigger challenger following a creditable effort in a twelve furlong York handicap on just his second start. We wouldn't put anyone off him but will take a chance with Bugaku.
