slowly into stride, soon led, driven out
held up in touch, pushed along halfway, soon beaten
with winner, ridden over 2f out, weakened final furlong
in touch, driven to chase winner over 1f out, stayed on same pace
held up, ridden and headway over 1f out, never able to challenge
chased leaders, ridden and weakened over 2f out (wore cheek pieces)
behind, ridden halfway, never dangerous
slowly into stride, soon outpaced towards rear, never a factor
Latest Edition hasn't taken long to get used to the game and is taken to follow up her Kempton win here. Amanda Perrett's filly loved the fast ground there and with the stable in such good form she can improve again here. Sheriff Shift is another for the short list. Mick Channon's colt showed plenty of guts when taking his maiden at Thirsk in August and was not disgraced in second place when upped in grade at York last time. With his yard also in form, another big run is expected. Others to note are Little Malvern, who will love the ground and beat a big field to win at Nottingham over six furlongs recently and Feather Boa, twice a winner over the trip already, although she may just have gone off the boil at the moment.
