A decent renewal of the Listed race named after Henry Cecil's great filly, Oh So Sharp. Amount's form looks very solid (the Brighton maiden in which she was third has worked out very well with the winner Oblige finishing fifth in the Fillies' Mile), and she will make a bold bid to land the race her half-sister Protectress won last year. Bush Cat finished fifth in the May Hill Stakes, so we have a chance - to a degree - to tie in the Fillies' Mile and May Hill form. The well-bred Frieda Kahlo, second to Gossamer's half-sister Camlet at Yarmouth last time, has more on her plate here. Irresistible was second to the very impressive Airwave (who was again impressive when winning Friday's Cheveley Park Stakes) at Ayr last time and is entitled to improve over this extra furlong. She and Miss Takeortwo are closely weighted through Golden Nun and hold Miss Assertive through the same filly (admittedly over six furlongs). Khulood, a half-sister to the champion sprinter Elnadim and the Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Mehtaaf, ran inexplicably badly at Salisbury after impressing on her Ascot debut, while the well bred Soldera won well on her debut (the second and third have won since) and her trainer does well at this meeting. A fascinating race but not one that is easy to solve. Following Airwave's Cheveley Park success, it is hard to get away from the claims of Irresistible and she gets the TEAMtalk vote ahead of Soldera, whose trainer, as mentioned, has a good recent record at this meeting.
