      Verdict

      Brando won this in 2017 and 2018 but was only third behind shock scorer Keystroke 12 months ago, despite having hit the front inside the final furlong. The classy veteran reversed that form in the autumn and Stuart Williams’ fellow eight-year-old hasn’t had a prep run this year but this race could fall into the lap of the latter’s stable companion BREATHTAKING LOOK. The mare made giants strides last year and was a Group 3 winner over 7f in September. She goes well fresh and may outstay the speed merchants. Oxted won on his reappearance last year and landed the Portland at Doncaster in September but this is a big step up from handicaps. Mr Lupton is starting to look a busted flush but Kevin Ryan’s second string Emaraaty Ana is no mug having won the Gimcrack as a juvenile.
