tracked leader, ridden 2f out, sustained challenge from over 1f out, led final strides
held up in touch, ridden over 2f out, weakened final furlong
close up, ridden 2f out, unable to quicken inside final furlong
dwelt, held up, headway and not clear run from over 1f out, switched left, ran on under strong pressure, just failed, unlucky
led, ridden 2f out, challenged from over 1f out, headed final strides
in touch, ridden over 2f out, kept on same pace final furlong
Just the seven runners but that does not make things any easier with the majority of the field largely inconsistent so what can only be a tentative selection is King Of Happiness, who gets the verdict over Binary File and Duck Row. The last mentioned is difficult to catch right but is more than capable of taking a hand here if on one of his going days. Binary File drops back in trip having failed to stay 10 furlongs in his last two starts but does not look good enough on recent evidence, while Polar Ben, who steps up in trip, is not certain to stay the extra distance. Shamrock City is another to consider but King Of Happiness is the one they all have to beat. Sir Michael Stoute's colt has failed to progress as expected but is still open to improvement after just eight career starts and, as the four-year-old would be good enough to beat these if reproducing his recent form anyway, he gets the vote.
