John Gosden's Treble Heights sets a fair standard here but a penalty for her Aphrodite Stakes success leaves the daughter of Unfuwain vulnerable and we prefer to side with Approach, who gets the verdict over the consistent Discreet Brief. The selection hails from the in-form stable of Sir Mark Prescott and remains very much unexposed, particularly over this trip. A Listed race winner at Newbury on her return in June, The daughter of Darshaan lost no caste in defeat in a Group 2 contest over 1m4f in France on her only subsequent outing. Bred to appreciate the step up in trip, George Duffield's mount is taken to defy her penalty. Flying Wanda has claims of reversing Newbury form with the selection on 3lb better terms for a neck but is not certain to do so over the longer trip. Jeremy Noseda's three-year-old strictly has the beating of Treble Heights on running in the Lancashire Oaks but John Gosden's filly looked to be badly in need of the run that day as her subsequent performance at Newmarket showed. Discreet Brief has done little wrong since winning her maiden in April, finishing in the frame in all three starts since then. She should be thereabouts again but may, once more, have to settle for minor honours. Prompt Payment has to be respected on her best form but disappointed in the Lancashire Oaks last time and has a lot to do on running that day. Any more rain would help her cause. Roger Charlton's Allergy, not seen since running below expectations in the Cheshire Oaks, looks the best of the rest but it will take a good one to lower the colours of Approach, who gets the vote.
